Gilt harness fittings - Bears - (2413) PRICE ON REQUEST
[2413]

Three gilt bronze fittings which originally adorned a horse's harness. Leather straps could be pulled cross-wise through the brackets at the back. The medallions are shaped like crouching bears and date from the Han period (206BC – AD220). They are still in very good condition although the gilding has rubbed off somewhat which is the result of an underground stay of a few thousand years. Bears were frequently used as decoration during the Han period. Diameter 4.2 cm. PRICE ON REQUEST
