Simple silver hairpin with a cone-shaped top which is decorated with engraved and hammered patterns. One depicts a flower, most probably a plum flower, which has five petals symbolizing the Five Blessings, Old age, Health, Wealth, Love of Virtue and a Peaceful death. We have not been able to find a silver mark on this hairpin which is still in excellent shape. It dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Length 7.3 cm. Diameter 0.7 cm at the top. Weight 8.8 grams.
