Oval snuff dish made of Xiu Yu jade which is found in Xiuyan County in Liaoning province. Xiu Yu jade which should not be confused with the very expensive Hetian jade, was used for amongst others snuff dishes, opium pipe bowls and chops. The dish has four small feet and a very nice but later hardwood stand. It dates from the late Qing period (1644 – 1912). Length 5.3 cm. Width 4.5 cm. Height 0.8 cm.
