Small golden tip of an iron bangle. During the Warring States period when this small monster head was made, iron was a very rare and expensive commodity. Most of the metal objects made during that period were still made of bronze. Iron was only available in small quantities and it was revered for its rarity and formidable qualities. The iron of this bangle disintegrated long ago but remains are still existent in this golden tip. The goldsmith created a small monster mask of a type which was quite popular during the Warring States period (475 – 221BC) and Western Han Dynasty (206BC – 25AD). Length 1.1 cm. Width 1.2 cm. Depth 0.8 cm.
