Silver hat ornament which depicts one of the Eight Immortals. The Immortal Zhang Guo Lao has his ‘trademark’, a bamboo drum and rods, in his hand. Each Immortal can be identified by the attribute which he is holding (see Quick Find 7883). Zhang Guo Lao is standing on clouds which shows that he is an Immortal. The ornament dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Height 3.9 cm. Width 2.0 cm. Depth 0.2 cm.
