Bracelet consisting of eight very finely and sharply hand-carved beads which depict chrysanthemum flowers. The Chrysanthemum is used in Chinese medicine and has health giving properties. It therefore symbolizes Longevity. These pierced miniature carvings are made from the kernel of a Chinese ‘gânlan’ fruit which is a very hard material. Each bead is marked Yu Chen (雨辰). Yu Chen (雨辰) is a mark used by a group of well-known carvers in Suzhou. Total length 19 cm. Bead length 2.1 cm. Diameter 1.6 cm.
