PLA soldiers in action - (1965) Private collection

These two lively carvings depict soldiers of the People's Liberation Army in action. On one of the two carvings soldiers are climbing a cliff with the help of long bamboo poles and one is signaling with two flags on the mountain top. On the other carving a warmly dressed soldier is using a field telephone while other ride horses. This kind of carving is typical of the period of the Cultural Revolution (1966 - 1976). Size without stand: Height 28 cm. Width 11.5 cm. Depth 4.3 cm.
