A large white spotted beetle climbs on top of a pair of chestnuts in this carving. The ivory has been stained brown which creates a very naturalistic rendering. The beetle itself is stained in black and white. We could not completely identify the signature but we believe that it reads Liang Zhou (良舟). Length 4.1 cm. Width 3.3 cm. Height 2.8 cm.
