Modern hardwood toggle depicting a Fu dog also known as Buddhist Lion which symbolizes Harmony, Blessings, Protection as well as High Rank. The carving of the curling hair and bulging muscles of the ferocious looking beast are well done. Its eyes are inlaid with black glass. The toggle is signed by the carver and was made in Hong Kong in the 1980’s or 1990’s. Height 3.6 cm. Width 4.1 cm. Depth 3.2 cm.
