Pair of silver rings, each one embossed with a Melon and Plum flowers. The melon symbolizes a wish to give birth to many children because it has many seeds and the five petals of a Plum blossom symbolize the Five Blessings, Old age, Health, Wealth, Love of Virtue and a Peaceful death. The rings are marked with the name Ren Mao (仁茂) who may have been the silversmith or the retailer. They date from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Inside diameter 1.8 cm. Width 1.9 cm.
