Silver needle case on a chain. The case is shaped as a Boy holding a Gold Bar in his hands. They symbolize a wish for many Sons and Wealth. The chain is attached to the tubular needle holder inside. Dangling down from the boy are two small bells of which one depicts another boy and the other one shows a Peach (Longevity) decorated with a Plum flower (Five Blessings, see QF 8258). The needle case dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Total length 32.5.cm. Boy length 6.5 cm. Width 3.0 cm. Depth 1.7 cm.
