Super long silver chain and attachment buttons for which the silversmith used silver coins of five cents from Hong Kong. One of the coins is dated 1901 and the other one 1889. Both show the face of Queen Victoria. We do not know if this chain was used as an apron chain. It is extremely long (75 cm) but there is a single hook attached to it which may have served to shorten the chain. The coins do not have hooks. The chain came from Fujian province but the coins originate from Hong Kong. It dates from the end of the Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Chain: Length 75 cm. Coins: Diameter 1.6 cm. Total weight 53 grams.
