Very cute pair of miniature silver ornaments in the shape of woven fish baskets with enameled sea creatures climbing all over them. The baskets symbolize that the owner will have plenty of everything. They have hinged lids. The use of these ornaments is still unknown to us but we assume that they were once attached to long hairpins which were fashionable in China for a long time. Both baskets are still in excellent condition and date from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Height 1.7 cm. Diameter 1.4 cm.
