Small silver lock which can be closed by screw-action. It is decorated with Bamboo (Peace), Plum flowers (Five Blessings), Nandina (tianzhu) which is a pun for Heaven (tian) or Congratulate (zhu) as well as with some yet unidentified flowers. Is the large flower perhaps a Crab-apple flower? The lock is hallmarked with the name Yu Hua (粤華) who may have been the silversmith or the retailer. It dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Width 2.8 cm. Height 1.8 cm. Depth 0.9 cm.
