Interesting silver lock decorated on one side with a stylized Cymbidium flower (Friendship & Grandchildren) and the name Hui Xing (惠興) who was most probably the original owner. On the other side are four Chinese characters of which we can’t translate two, Zheng Zu (正足). The other two read San Duo (三多) which means Happiness, Longevity and many Sons. The lock can still be opened and has an indistinct silver mark. It dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Width excluding key 4.5 cm. Height 2.0 cm. Depth 1.4 cm. Weight 17.6 grams.
