Very, very small silver lock decorated with Plum blossoms (Five Blessings) and Lotus flowers. The Five Blessings are a Long Life, Health, Wealth, Love of Virtue and death by natural causes. A Lotus flower symbolizes Continuous Harmony. On one side are the characters ‘Chang Ming Fu Gui’ (Long Life and Prosperity) and on the other side ‘Chu Ru Ping An’ (Safe return home). The lock dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Width 1.9 cm. Height 1.3 cm. Depth 0.8 cm.
