Small silver lock decorated on one side with a Crab-apple flower (haitang) and Bamboo (Humility, Fidelity & Peace). The first part of the name ‘hai’ means ‘sea’. The second part ‘tang’ means ‘hall’ or ‘home’. The other side of the lock depicts a Chrysanthemum and Plum blossoms which are both symbols of Longevity. We believe that the mark on the lock reads Yi Chun (義春) but we are not certain. It dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Width 2.6 cm. Height 1.8 cm.
