Gilt silver hat ornament in the shape of a large lotus leaf, three Lotus flowers and two seedpods. The Lotus leaf symbolizes Harmony. The Lotus flowers represent Marriage in addition to Purity and the seedpods express a wish for Many children. The hat ornament was originally attached to the back of a hat. Five little bells of which three are shaped as Pomegranates (Many children) are dangling from fine chains. The ornament dates from the late Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1912). Height excluding chains 3.5 cm.
