Extremely fine silver charm chain which used to dangle from a long hairpin. It is more than likely that some of the objects attached to this charm chain were once adorned with the bright blue feathers of the Kingfisher bird but these are gone. Depicted are a Butterfly (Blessings & Happiness) a funny bat with ‘antennas’ and an even more unusual object, a water pipe. We don’t believe that the water pipe has a hidden meaning so it is most probably just a very nice decoration. The charm chain dates from the end of the Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1912). Length ca 16 cm.
