Hairpin with two lotus pods – (0183)

Gilt silver hairpin decorated with two lotus pods. The seedpods of a lotus symbolize Fertility. The workmanship is very nice but the gilding is rubbed as a result of its age. There is an engraved mark on the pin with the name Yi Mei (益美). The hairpin dates from the late Qing period (1644 – 1912). Length 7.1 cm. Width 3.2 cm. Depth 1.6 cm.
