Silver hairpin decorated with a filigree-type Plum blossom, symbol of the Five Blessings, Old Age, Health, Wealth, Love of Virtue and a Peaceful death. The top is formed by an ear scoop used to clean one’s ears. The hairpin dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Length 10.2 cm. Width 1.0 cm.
