Profusely decorated long silver hairpin. Many lucky symbols are depicted such as the Harmonious Twins ‘He He Erxian’, vases (Peace), cauldrons (belonging to the ‘Eight Precious Things’) and a Fu dog (Valor and Energy). One of the cauldrons is inscribed with the text ‘He Nei Gui’ (Always Harmony). The hairpin is marked for silver ’Wen Yin’ (纹银) and Beijing (北京 ) and most probably dates from the late Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1912). Length 17 cm. Width at its widest point 6 cm.
