Stunning silver embossed hairpin in ‘Art Nouveau’ style decorated on one side with Chrysanthemum flowers and with Plum blossoms on the other. Both these flowers are symbols of Longevity. In the centre is a Lotus flower representing Continuous Harmony. The stem of the hairpin has possibly been repaired. It is marked An Hai Yong Qi (安海 永祈) who may have been the silversmith or the retailer and it dates from the end of the Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Length 13.8 cm.
