Three-pronged silver hairpin decorated with an embossed chrysanthemum blossom which symbolizes ‘Longevity’ because of the plant’s health giving properties. The centre of the flower is inset with a nice jadeite (Fei Tsui) ‘teardrop’. The design of the chrysanthemum flower is very much Art Nouveau and dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Length 11.7 cm. Width flower 3.5 cm.
