This spoon-shaped object with its twisted stem was used to clean the tongue of its owner. Tongue-scrapers were quite common in China in the old days. There is a depiction of a chrysanthemum engraved on the spoon’s back. The chrysanthemum symbolizes Longevity and the swastika ‘Wan’ stands for ‘Ten thousand’ (Wan). The tongue scraper is hallmarked and of high quality. Length 10.9 cm. Width 3.6 cm. Depth 0.2 cm.
