Silver bangle decorated with swastikas – (0671)

Single solid silver bangle for a child. The decoration consists of swastikas which in the East have a completely different meaning than in the West. In Asia a swastika (wan) symbolizes ‘Ten thousand’ or ‘Infinity’ which is also pronounced ‘wan’. The bangle is hallmarked on the inside with the name ‘Chun Yi’ (淳兿) which may be the name of the silversmith or the retailer. It dates from the Republic period (1912 – 1947). Outside diameter ca 4.7 cm. Inside diameter ca 4.4 cm. Height 0.7 cm. Thickness 0.2 cm.
