Silver bangle embossed with á number of attributes belonging to five of the Eight Immortals such as the fan of Zhongli Quan, the bamboo ‘fish drum and rods of Zhang Guo Lao, the flute of Han Xiangzi, the flower basket of Lan Caihe and the fly whisk of He Xiangu. Also depicted is a magpie in a plum tree which is a pun for ‘May your joy reach the top of you eyebrows’ (xishang meishao). The bangle had a rough life as one corner is missing and it has a crack. It is indistinctly hallmarked. The first part is eligible but the second part perhaps reads He Yun (和云). It dates from the late Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1912). Inside diameter 7 x 6.5 cm. Width 2.7 cm.
