Very small make-up stone carved from ‘soapstone’ (also called ‘Shoushan stone') which was used by ladies to mix ink for their eyeliner. It is decorated with figures in a landscape and on the bottom is a large character 'Fu' (Happiness) and two smaller ones, namely 'Song Shen Fu' (probably a name) and 'Shou Chang' which means 'someone's collection'. This small ink stone dates from around 1900 or earlier. Length 2.9 cm. Width 2.0 cm. Height 2.0 cm. Weight 29.2 grams.
