Pierced napkin ring decorated with peony flowers, coins as well as the characters 'Ji Xiang Ru Yi' (吉祥如意) and 'Fu Shou Kang Ning' (福寿康宁). The coins are marked Guangxu, a Chinese emperor who reigned from 1875 to 1908. The coins are symbolic for 'Wealth' whereas the peony (mudan 牧丹) is also called the ‘flower of Wealth and Honor’ (fuguihua 富貴花). There is a mark inside the ring which we have not been able to identify yet. The ring which dates from around 1900 was added to the collection from America in 2009. Diameter 4.5 cm. Height 3.3 cm. Weight 20 grams.
