Beaker, engraved with an eagle holding a shield in his right talon and a ribbon below reading 'His-Vicimus-Armus' (We conquered with these arms) which was the family crest of the Simons family in England. On the other side is a cartouche depicting an official riding a donkey across a bridge with a servant preceding him bearing flowers. Another servant fans him. Near the water is an official on a boat who raises his fan in greeting. Engraved 'cloud' patterns and flowers surround the base of the beaker. Exotic birds rest within the bamboo foliage. There is a single chop mark on the base which reads 'Gan Qing He' who according to CES-expert Alan Marlowe seems to have been active in the second half of the 19th century.
