Beaker, engraved with an eagle holding a shield in his right talon and a ribbon below reading 'His-Vicimus-Armus' (We conquered with these arms) which was the family crest of the Simons family in England. On the other side is a cartouche depicting an official riding a donkey across a bridge with a servant preceding him bearing flowers. Another servant fans him. Near the water is an official on a boat who raises his fan in greeting. Engraved 'cloud' patterns and flowers surround the base of the beaker. Exotic birds rest within the bamboo foliage. There is a single chop mark on the base which reads 'Gan Qing He' who according to CES-expert Alan Marlowe seems to have been active in the second half of the 19th century. The beaker came from San Francisco in 2010. Height 14.5 cm. Diameter top 8.5 cm. Weight 307 grams
