Wooden tobacco box which looks like a flattened bucket. Its lid is flat. It has a very nice patina as a result of many years of use. These tobacco boxes were worn from the belt. In general they are not very large because tobacco pipes in China could only contain a small quantity of tobacco as they had small bowls. The box dates from the Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1912). Length 8 cm. Width 7.5 cm. Depth 3.4 cm.
