Porcelain candle stand decorated in blue and white with the ‘three friends of winter’ (pine tree, plum and bamboo). It is an interesting object because it is only partly glazed. Was it the intention of the potter to save on the glaze or was it meant as an aesthetic expression? The stand is completely solid. The crack in the bottom occurred during firing and is not unusual with such a solid item. What looks like damage on the top is in fact an unglazed part comparable to the glaze as on the sides. The candle stand dates from the 19th century. Diameter 8.6 cm. Height 6.7 cm.
