Porcelain candle stand decorated with two Chinese characters and a Lozenge (one of the Eight Treasures) in blue and white. These candle stands were made out of solid clay (kaolin) and a number of them in our collection show firing cracks as a result. This one is almost perfect apart from some minor rim chips and dates from the late Qing period (1644 – 1912). Height 6.2 cm. Diameter 6.2 cm.
