Two small bronze buckles which are shaped like resting buffalos. We assume that they originally formed part of a horse harness. The backs are less corroded than the top, an effect caused by the leather belts which were once attached and prevented corrosion. The design of these miniature animals is typical of the Western Zhou period (1046 – 771 BC). Length 6 cm. Height 3.2 cm.
