These two rings once formed the rims of a vessel or pot made of a material which has deteriorated long ago. The last photo shows an example of such a vessel. The rims are cast in bronze and inlaid with geometric patterns in silver. The pair date from the Warring States period (475 – 221 BC). Diameter of both rims 21.8 cm. Rim height 3.2 & 3.6 cm. Rim width 2.0 & 2.2 cm. The weight differs. One rim weighs 480 grams and judged by the wear and tear most probably served as the bottom rim. The other one weighs 690 grams. PRICE ON REQUEST.
