Bronze scroll weight in the shape of an apparently drunken man with a small dog at his feet. He has a fan under his head and a gourd in one hand. Gourds were used in the old days to store liquor. Looking at this small scroll weight, the name Li Bai(李白) comes to mind. Li Bai was a famous poet who lived during the Tang dynasty. His poems celebrate friendship, nature, solitude and the joys of drinking wine. One of his best known poems is called “Waking from Drunkenness on a Spring Day”.
